Frequently asked questions on invalid carriage insurance

Is all the product information on the website complete or are there small print?

On the various pages of our website, we try to explain our products as clearly as possible. We also explain the ifs and buts of the products as much as possible. We have also listed the frequently asked questions for each product. With this, we try to provide as much information as possible about the products we offer.

We work together with several insurers, each of which has its own conditions for the various products. There can be considerable differences between them. We would like to emphasise that you should always consult the policy, including any clauses and conditions. These are always leading.

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions. Can't find your answer? Please contact us via Chat, WhatsApp or Messenger.

Can I drive immediately after applying for disability insurance?

By law, you are obliged to take out at least a third-party insurance for your disabled vehicle .

You can make a calculation for the insurance on our website and take out insurance. However, you cannot drive your disabled vehicle immediately after applying for the insurance. You must first attach an insurance plate or insurance sticker to your vehicle. You will receive these from the insurer when they have accepted your application and drawn up the policy. They will be sent to you by post.

Can other people ride on my invalid carriage?

When you apply for the insurance, you must specify the driver. If someone else was driving in the event of damage, this may have consequences for the damage payment. The insurer will assess this on a case-by-case basis.

When you sell the disabled vehicle to someone, this person is not allowed to drive with your insurance plate. This person must apply for new insurance for the disabled vehicle.

Why do I pay per year for disability insurance?

Insurance for a disabled vehicle runs from May to May. You take out the insurance for that entire period. The premium payment is therefore also per year.

If the insurance only takes effect in October, it runs until May of the following year.

Should the insurance be terminated within the year, you will of course be refunded any excess premium paid.

Will I get back the premium paid in advance if I cancel the insurance within the year?

If the insurance is terminated within the year, you will receive the excess premium back.

How can I stop the insurance of my disabled vehicle?

When you insure a disabled vehicle, you get an insurance plate or sticker. Only with this can you drive on the road.

If you sell the disabled vehicle, the insurance plate or sticker must be returned to the insurer. You can send this directly to them or to us. Once the insurance plate has been received by the insurer, the insurance can be stopped.
