What are the costs if you lose your driving licence?
If you have lost your driver's license or it has been stolen, you should always report it to the police. If this happens abroad, for example during a vacation, report it to the police in the Netherlands. If you have lost your driver 's license, the cost of applying for a new license varies per municipality.

The police will make an official report of the loss. You will need this official report to apply for a new driver's license at the municipality. When you visit the municipality, bring the official report, a valid ID, one passport photo and the amount to be paid.
For some municipalities, you do not have to submit a police report, but rather complete a statement yourself at the municipality. You can check with your municipality to see if this applies to you.
Are you 60 years or older, does your driving license contain categories C and/or D, or was your previous license issued for a shorter period of validity due to a medical limitation? Then you will receive a so-called duplicate driving license when you have lost your license.
For the cost of applying for a new driver's license in the event of a missing license, check your own municipality's website. The cost is between €30 and €50. For more information, visit the website of the National Road Transport Agency (RDW).
