No provisional cover, now what?

After you apply for insurance, your application is immediately forwarded to your chosen insurer.
After this, you will receive an email stating whether or not you have provisional coverage.

Do you get an email saying no provisional coverage? That means you don't have coverage yet. When you have applied for insurance for a (motor) vehicle, it means that you are not allowed to use your vehicle yet.
The insurer will first have to review and approve your application. On average, this is completed within 1 hour and in many cases even within 10 minutes. This can take up to 48 hours.

Once the acceptance has been completed, you will receive immediate notification by email and the policy will be sent within 1 week. Keep a close eye on your e-mail for this.
Also, always check your SPAM folder. We do not send you SPAM, but of course we do not want you to miss an important e-mail.

The first premium collection

If you have chosen to pay per month then the first premium payment may be for a longer period than 1 month.
This is because the first premium collection covers the remainder of the current month and the immediately following month. The one-time policy fee is also collected at that time.
As a result, the first premium collection will be higher than the standard monthly payment and there will be no collection the following month.

Claim-free years

If, when applying for a (motor) vehicle, you have specified claim-free years, this will give you a higher discount and the premium will be lower.
These claim-free years can only be taken over from a terminated policy, where the old insurer has entered the claim-free years of the past three years in the Roy-data database. The claim-free years may not be in use on another insurance policy.
Should the claim-free years you entered not be available in Roy-data, the new insurance company must adjust your number of claim-free years to zero. This may reduce the discount and increase the premium.
Should the insurance company not immediately see the claim-free years, we will of course contact you first so that you can resolve it before it is adjusted.
