Claim-free years are registered in Roy Data. This is the central database of Stichting EPS (Efficient Processes Schadeverzekeraars). Your data in Roy Data is accessible for both insurers and yourself. Do you want to know how many claim-free years you have in Roy Data? Then you can submit a request for inspection through the website of Stichting EPS. You can do so by completing the request for inspection form. Claim-free years from your insurer

It is important to know that claims-free years are only included in Roy Data once the insurance policy with which they have been accrued has been terminated. Do you still have a car insurance? Then the claim-free years you have accrued during this period cannot be viewed online yet. If you want to know how many claim-free years you currently have, you can request this from your insurer or intermediary. In addition, your car insurer must let you know annually how many claim-free years you have. This is stated on the policy document that you receive annually from the insurer.

How many claim-free years do I lose after a claim?

You lose claim-free years by making a claim on your car insurance. One claim costs you five claim-free years. The lower number of claim-free years can result in a sharp increase in the premium in the following policy year. You do not lose years of insurance with every claim. Damages which are insured in the WA limited casco do not go at the expense of the claim-free years. This concerns for example windscreen damage, storm and hail damage and theft of the car. In case of damage caused by a collision or vandalism, the claim on the insurance will be at the expense of your claim-free years.

Claim-free years transferable since 1-1-2022

Since 1 January 2022, claim-free years are transferable in certain situations. In case of death for example, they can be transferred to the surviving partner. Also for lease drivers and drivers who have lived abroad for years, it is now possible to transfer the claim-free years. This way, they do not lose their accumulated claim-free years.
