On the various pages of our website, we try to explain our products as clearly as possible. We also explain the buts and whys of the products as much as possible. We have also listed the frequently asked questions for each product. In this way, we try to provide as much information as possible about the products we offer.

We work together with several insurers, each of which has its own conditions for the various products. There can be considerable differences between them. We would like to emphasise that you should always consult the policy, including any clauses and conditions. These are leading at all times.

I have sold my bicycle. Can I transfer the insurance?

When you sell your bicycle, it is not possible to transfer the insurance to the new owner. However, you can cancel your continuous bicycle insurance.

Can I insure an electric bicycle (second-hand)?

Yes, you can. You can also take out bicycle insurance with us for your second-hand electric bicycle. Theft coverage is different for a second-hand electric bicycle:

Can I also insure my second-hand bicycle?

Do I also qualify for compensation if I only have one bicycle key?

No, in order to qualify for a compensation on the bicycle insurance, you have to hand over two original bicycle keys to the insurance company.

What is the excess of the bicycle insurance?

In case of damage to an E-bike or a regular bicycle, you have an excess of €25 on the bicycle insurance.

In case of total loss of an E-bike or a regular bicycle, you do not have an excess.

In case of damage to an ATB or road bike, the excess is €50.

In case of total loss of an ATB or road bike, the excess is 20% of the insured amount.

In case of theft of any type of bicycle, you do not have an excess.

The excess may also differ per policy and per insurer. Therefore, please check your policy carefully.

What does the breakdown cover include?

Breakdown on the road is an inconvenience. But with Unigarant Roadside Assistance, the problem is solved in no time. Thanks to an (emergency) repair, you will be back on the road in no time. And if it cannot be repaired en route, you and your E-bike will be taken to a bicycle specialist or home. This coverage is a standard part of the E-bike bicycle insurance.

You are entitled to during the term of the insurance:

  • Free repair in case of breakdown (excluding spare parts).
  • Free transport for you and your bicycle if repair on the road is not possible.
  • Unigarant Pechhulp is implemented by the ANWB.
What kind of ART lock should be on the bicycle?

On our bicycle insurance, the company always requires an ART approved lock with 2 stars ( category 2 ).
